  • Oregon has led the nation in softwood lumber production for many years.

  • Oregon’s lumber output of 5.2 billion board feet in 2015 accounted for about 16.5 percent of total U.S. production.

  • That’s an increase of 36 percent from the recessionary low in 2009.

  • 7.6% of Oregon's total timber harvest

  • 7,421 direct jobs

  • 4.4% of total county employment

PRIMARY WOOD PROCESSING:

  • 10 Sawmills

  • 6 Plywood/veneer plants

  • 1 Pulp/paper mill

  • 5 Engineered wood plants

ANNUAL TIMBER HARVEST:

  • 646 million board feet

  • 15% of Oregon's total timber harvest
